Okay! So I was discussing with my friends the other day and we were seriously arguing about blogging and bloggers in Nigeria needing a serious intervention from the "god of blogging"
"that's if there's any such thing." Friend A blamed the whole thing on the Federal Government's inability to give the youths jobs, he mentioned a friend of his who was at home for about 2 years after
service(NYSC) but started writing as a hubby and at the same time became addicted to LindaIkeji's blog where he garnered fame which enabled him to start his own blog which is making him some cool cash right now . Friend B said the influx of Nigerian youths into the blogging circle was as a result of the hard-to-believe news of Linda Ikeji's house acquisition in Banana Island in Lagos Nigeria, plus the range rover jeep she bought. (all costing over 500 million naira).
I'm still in awe about the unending garbage online(in blogs). mostly on sex and vulgar stories. But where do we go from here? what do we do to change this trend, because I fear that before long blogging will lose its integrity if we continue like this.
Creative bloggers are going extinct while the
copy and paste bloggers are making money from blogging.
Where do we go from here?
