Have you ever been to a newly constructed house? The electrical fittings are in place; the sockets, light bulbs, chandeliers; but because electrical current is not yet flowing, these electrical accessories wouldn’t work. Even if other appliances like radio, refrigerator or television are plugged into the sockets, they wouldn’t work as well.
This is because there‘s something missing, something very important which should activate all the electrical appliances and accessories, and cause them to work. That thing is called ‘ELECTRICITY’. You became the house of God the day you were born again. (2 Corinthians 6:16). You were already wired; all the fittings were in place. But the power came when you received the Holy Ghost. That’s the difference!
“And now I will send the Holy Spirit upon you, just as my Father promised. Don’t begin telling others yet-stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”(Luke 24:49 The Living Bible)
The Lord Jesus was in other words telling His disciples, ‘You cannot carry out my instructions without the Holy Ghost.’ He knew it would be impossible to live the Christian life without the anointing, because Christianity is the life of the anointed.
If you want to be effective in your life, you need this power brought by the Holy Ghost. The moment He steps into your life, you become anointed, because He brings the anointing “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you…” (1 John 2:27); it’s there now, you already have it; the anointing is at home in you already! This is why you’re so different from the rest of the world. You’ve been endued with power to cause the necessary changes in your life. Make use of that power today!
