7 ways your thinking changes your life.
Many people who don't feel content in their lives don't know why it is so. They often suspect and blame their misfortunes on other people or circumstances. Hence, their live are filled with regrets. Sometimes honest and self aware people who know that their problems come from within still find it difficult to figure out exactly where their problems are coming from.
Most of us ask ourselves "why am I this way?" "why has my life turned out this way? "we desire to change, but then we don't do anything differently in order to bring the change we so desire. We merely hope things will just change on their own, that everything will turn out right and we become frustrated when things don't.
"Recognize that only when you make the right changes to your thinking do other things begin to turn out right." John C. Maxwell.
1. Changing your thinking changes your beliefs : the plain truth is that whatever you don't see yourself becoming, you'll never become. You have to believe in your personal ability, that will in turn increase your self confidence. "in our society today people are out of shape mentally usually fall victim to ideas and system that are destructive to human spirit and to human relationships." The journey of life is a personal one and like we say "change is the only thing constant." The human mind is prone to change. That's why we can have many ideas about a thing all at the same time.
Keep these in mind.
(a) Change is personal.
(b) Change is a possibility.
(c) Changing will profit you.
2. When you change your beliefs your expectations changes: "A belief is not just an idea that you posses; it is an idea that possess you. " ~ John Maxwell.
When you truly believe in something or someone, you are oftentimes ready to die for that thing or person. That your belief changes your expectations from life. This means that your beliefs to a great extent control your behavior. You believe Jesus Christ died to save you. You expect to go to heaven. You believe when you read for an exam you'll pass, you expect a good result. "the first and most important step towards success is the expectation that we can succeed." ~Nelson Boswell.
3. As you change your expectations your attitude changes: Mathew 7:7 "ask and it shall be given to you..." Psalms 62:5 "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him." positive expectations bring a positive attitude along with it. And they both produce excitement, conviction, desire, confidence, commitment and energy. Raise your expectations today and begin to enjoy these qualities.
4. Your attitude determine your behavior : have you ever noticed that your mood affects the way you act? When you are happy you exude more energy and you're more likely to affect others positively in this state. But bad mood makes you lazy, impatient, easily irritated.
"attitude is the advance man of our true selves. "
Attitude goes beyond mood or emotions. Our behavior is a product of our attitude.
To know what's in your heart, look at your attitude.
5. Change your behavior, you've changed your performance : do I need to explain this further? What you give to life is what life gives back to you. When your behavior is wayward, your performance will equally be wayward. But when your behavior is noble, your performance in life becomes exquisite.
6. Changed performance = Changed character : it's as simple as that. Your performance output in life makes all the difference. Your performance changes how people see you. It changes who you are. It changes your carriage.
