SEE YOURSELF AND OTHERS THROUGH GOD'S EYES: (PART I).
A mirror or a picture can only reflect, show and reveal what a your body and outward appearance look like, these things can't reveal who you are. It's a person's heart that reflects, shows and reveals who they really are (stop, pause and think about that).Don't ever think that you know a person because you know what he/she looks like on the outside; if you think that way, then you're simply deceiving yourself. Who a person truly is, is what and how he/she thinks; it is his/her attitude, character and way of thinking that defines and reflects who he/she really is. This is what the Bible says, "AS A FACE IS REFLECTED IN WATER, SO A PERSON IS REFLECTED BY HIS HEART." What I said at the beginning of this post is just another way of saying what God says here in the Bible. One of the things that frustrate a lot of people's lives is that they care so much about what other people think or have to say about them, so they spend their lives and time trying to live up to that person's or those people's standards: so that they can look and be"good enough" for them. Don't let your life be like that, it'll frustrate you, destroy you and turn you into a wrong and unhappy person. Instead, become who and what God wants you to be, He cares for you and values you more than anyone else ever could, and He seeks what is perfect, right and good for you. God doesn't think the same way human beings do; Jesus Christ asked a certain group of people, "HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO BELIEVE [HOW CAN YOU LEARN TO BELIEVE], YOU WHO [ARE CONTENT TO SEEK AND] RECEIVE PRAISE AND HONOUR AND GLORY FROM ONE ANOTHER, AND YET YOU DO NOT SEEK THE PRAISE AND HONOUR AND GLORY WHICH [ONLY] COME FROM HIM WHO ALONE IS GOD?" Do you see that? That's how God thinks about what I'm talking about here, He's basically saying,"STOP SEEKING PRAISE AND APPROVAL FROM OTHER HUMAN BEINGS, BECAUSE ONLY THE PRAISE AND APPROVAL OF GOD ARE WHAT REALLY MATTER."Has somebody called you ugly? Has somebody called you unattractive? Have people mistreated you because they don't like how you look? Have they said bad things about your appearance because they don't think you're "beautiful" or"attractive"? Are you afraid of, worried or concerned about other people's thoughts and comments about you and how you look? Yes? Well forget it, because they are not God, they don't see the way God does, they're shortsighted and blind; people who don't know God have their own misguided definition of what "beautiful" is; God has His own, and God's definition is the right and true one. No one ever chose how they were going to look when they were being formed in their mother's womb, God did, and He never created an ugly person/thing! Moreover, when God looks at you, He sees and looks at the real you, not your outward appearance: He looks at the hidden person of the heart, He looks at what and how you think (your attitude and character). And to Him, the highest form of beauty, is the beauty of the heart! Looking at your heart, you might see many bad things about yourself but if you will give you heart and attention to God, this is what He says He does and will do, "I WILL MAKE THE DARKNESS LIGHT, THE CROOKED THINGS AND PLACES STRAIGHT, AND THE ROUGH PLACES SMOOTH!
