I DREAM OF A NEW NIGERIA
I hope not to wake up.
My dream does not value gold and silver.
My dream is limitless.
But limited by dreams.
My dream cuts down and plants.
I dream of a new Nigeria.
Where humans are equal,
Where no few are more equal than the others.
I dream of a Nigeria where everyone eats.
Where everyone eats from plates.
I dream!
I dream of a new Nigeria.
Where the powers holding power is healed of epilepsy and Parkinson’s.
I dream of a new Nigeria.
Where we exchange cultural values not copy.
I dream!
I dream of a new Nigeria.
Where we live as one, not minding the marks on our forehead,
nor the dark mark on our foreheads.
A land where complaints go extinct.
A Nigeria where our cars ply on roads not.
A Nigeria where roads replace crooked pathways.
A land where police replace cowards.
I dream!
I dream of a new Nigeria.
Where are schools and teachers.
Where health centers are replaced by hospitals.
A land with leaders not rulers.
A land of production.
I dream!
I dream of a new Nigeria.
